Propolis, Pollen and Royal Jelly – natural remedies for Psoriasis

Bee products are a natural treatment for Psoriasis, whether taken orally or used topically; in creams, solutions or ointments. This article focuses on curing Psoriasis with Propolis, Pollen and Royal Jelly and offers a few suggestions on how to make your own home remedies for Psoriasis; Propolis ointment and aqueous solution.

Researches show …

In a research where 160 patients with psoriasis took 0,3 g propolis 3 times a day for three months, one third were cured or their condition considerably improved. It is best to use Propolis tincture (with a pipette) and take it orally.

You can also use propolis topically (in creams or ointments).
Here is how to make your own Propolis Ointment: Buy Lanolin (natural wool grease, usually available in Pharmacies) or Beeswax and mix it with Propolis (cca. 15 g Propolis in 100 g Lanolin or Beeswax).

You can make your own propolis solution (10%-50% propolis tincture in water) and apply it to affected area 2 to 3 times daily.

We should mention that in many cases of curing psoriasis with natural remedies like propolis at first the condition got worse but it gradually improved so much that one could not even tell about former psoriasis condition.

Bee Pollen, like Propolis, boosts immunity and improves overall health. It is suggested to use 1 teaspoon before breakfast and 1 teaspoon before dinner.

Royal Jelly is taken the same way as Bee Pollen and is a very powerful food supplement, rich in Vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B6, B12), folic acid and bio stimulants. Like Propolis, Royal Jelly has antiviral, antitoxic and antibacterial effect. Because it naturally contains amino acid, one of the main collagen components, it is very benevolent in skin care, whether we use it orally or in skin cream.

Propolis soap and Aloe Propolis cream are also available on the market. But why not mix your own? Just add a few drops of Propolis into your liquid soap or into your cream!

Honey Bee Propolis, a natural treatment for Bronchitis

Bee Propolis is a natural antibiotic and one of the best natural remedies for bronchitis.

How much propolis to take to cure bronchitis?

If you are looking for a natural cure to heal bronchitis, go for propolis. It is suggested to take two propolis capsules daily for a longer period of time to boost overall immunity and prevent bronchitis. Propolis is also effective in relieving asthma and other respiratory problems, as it promotes breathing and helps relieve cough.

Why use a natural antibiotic?

While Bronchitis usually results from a viral infection, antibiotics would not be effective (if the doctor finds that you have a bacterial infection, he/she will prescribe antibiotics). Beside the antibiotic properties of Propolis, it has a very strong anti-inflammation effect and it is therefore very welcome in treating Bronchitis. Let us mention that in vitro studies have shown propolis to be effective against germs that are becoming resistant to conventional synthetic antibiotic treatment. When fighting with Antibiotic-resistant bacteria like MRSA or golden staph (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus),VRE (vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus) and MDR-TB (multi-drug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis), it is of great importance to use a natural antibiotic like propolis, which contains powerful antibacterial properties and is capable of destroying strains already resistant to conventional antibiotics.

Propolis treatment for Trichomoniasis and Candida sypmtoms

Propolis has strong anti-fungal, anti-inflammation and anti-protozoan effect and has been proven effective in cases of STDs like trich and candida. Trichomoniasis or trich is a curable sexually transmitted disease (STD) and a common cause of vaginitis. It is caused by Trichomonas vaginalis, a protozoan parazite. It is basically an urogenital tract infection which can lead to cervicitis (cervix inflammation), vaginitis (vagina infection) or urethritis (urethra infexion). Trichomoniasis symptoms are most common in women (foul-smelling, itchy and yellow-green or grey vaginal discharge), but also appear in men (irritation, burning after urination). Even if the symptoms are obvious just in one partner, both of them should get treatment. Even if the person is not showing any symptoms, he or she can still pass the infection to her or his sexual partner. Trichomoniasis can cause cervical cancer, prostate cancer and premature birth. The baby of a mother with trichomoniasis usually has low birth weight too.

Candida is caused by fungus Candida Albicans and is usually shown in symptoms like genital itchiness, thicker consistency of the vaginal discretion (white), burning sensation while urinating, pain during sex.

Trich is commonly treated with antibiotics like Flagyl (metronidazole or tinidazole), but if you wish to try with a natural remedy, go for medicinal plants and propolis: Propolis has a strong anti-protozoan and anti-fungal effect and can help treat conditions like trich and candida. In the evening, perform a vaginal wash with tea, made from medicinal plants (we suggest calendula, fern root stalk, tansy and the antiparasitic and antifungal wormwood). After the wash, use propolis ovules, but insert them right before going to bed, so propolis can work during the night. Researches have shown that propolis has 100% lethal effect on Trichomonas and it also helps decrease inflammations connected to vaginitis.

Could Bee Propolis be a cause of kidney failure?

While Bee Propolis is believed to be rather nontoxic, there have been two known cases of renal failure, probably caused by consuming propolis. The allergic reactions are quite common, but this was a first confirmed case of kidney failure, connected to brazilian green propolis.

While this was a case of a 59-year man, there was another report of a 3-year-old boy, allergic to gluten, who also developed acute kidney failure. The boy was taking homeopathic medicine with propolis 2 to 3 times per week. After cca. 4 months, the creatinine levels increased and returned to normal when propolis intake was stopped.

It is an interesting fact that on the other hand researches have shown a positive, protective effect of propolis from oxidative stress in rat kidneys.

English: The European honey bee or western hon...

A fair warning is in place: If a person is allergic to bee venom,  then propolis, pollen and royal jelly should be avoided.

Also young children, pregnant and breastfeeding women are advised not to take bee propolis or royal jelly, but also liver and/or kidney disease patients should not take propolis.

Bee Propolis for sore throat

I have been using Bee Propolis as a remedy for sore throat since I can remember. When we were little, our mother used to put a few drops of propolis tincture on a sugar cube if we ever had strep throat and then we enjoyed the sweet and aromatic, perhaps even a little spicy taste as the cube with propolis dissolved in our mouth. I still use propolis whenever I feel that my throat is starting to hurt,  but most of the times I use propolis spray which is fast and easy to use on the right spot of inflammation. I recommend using propolis in any cases of inflammations, irritations or ulcers, especially those in the mouth cavity – if you are not allergic to bee products, ofcourse! It is a great topical cure and the easiest way to apply it is in form of spray. You could also use a spoonful of sugar and put a few drops of propolis tincture on that, works great! Just don’t try to take propolis by itself, because it will stick to your teeth and make a mess. There is also pure propolis to chew on the market, but I have never tried that – must be a pain with the teeth coloring …

If you wish to use propolis as an immunity booster, you could also put a few drops in a glass of water or juice, stir and drink it up. But for me, sugar works perfectly. You can get propolis without alcohol too, especially if you wish to give it to a child. But be careful, you should be certain that your child is not allergic to honey, pollen, royal jelly – any bee products – and we should never give honey or any other bee product to an infant, less than one year old (Because of danger of infant botulism, caused by Clostridium bacteria, which can sometimes contaminate honey. Children can usually cope with this bacteria after one year of age). One thing I would most certainly recommend for cough relief are also propolis lozenges – can’t miss with those!

Scar reducing cream with propolis

Scar tissue forms when our skin heals from burns, accidents, acne and similar. The most common scars are raised above the surface of the skin and are called keloids or keloidal (hypertropic) scars. Many suffer from acne, a major cause for skin inflammation and skin discoloration (usually hyper-pigmentation). Acne also leave holes in the skin that take very long time to heal. The scars are bound to stay, but by using the right treatment, we can greatly reduce their size and visibility. We believe in natural care. More and more people are becoming aware of how important it is to use natural ingredients on our body. Our skin is our largest organ and it is highly permeable – then why would we put something on it that we wouldn’t like to have in our body? If you have a caesarean section scar, why not try and treat it with an all-natural product with propolis to treat your scar? Even if the scarring was caused by tattooing or laser tattoo removal, propolis cream is the way to go!

There are a couple of products on the market which contain bee products. We recommend the all-natural Derma Scar Reducing Cream which contains natural extract of honey bee propolis, echinacea, chamomille, calendula and other healing ingredients like aloe vera gel, olive oil and tea tree oil. It works on existing scars, newly healed wounds and stretch marks.

Bee Pollen for prostate health

It is a well known fact that HoneyBee Pollen protects the cardiovascular health, thanks to rutin, a strong antioxidant and protector of our cardiac system. But not only can bee pollen help us fight heart diseases, stroke and hypertension, it is also a great remedy to fight against prostate cancer and even to increase a man’s virility. If it helps athletes, why would it not increase sexual performance?

Pollen and pollen extracts have many scientifically proven health benefits to prostate health and urogenital health in general. Researches confirm that pollen and pollen extracts can help maintain a healthy prostate by decreasing the pressure by relaxing the muscles that line the bladder (the intraurethal pressure). Pollen, like propolis, also shows strong anti-inflammatory effects and can therefore be successfully used in cases of prostatodynia and prostatitis. Some researches have linked prostatitis and prostate cancer to deficiency of vitamin B, C and D, which are all abundant in honey bee pollen, which makes it a even better natural preventive supplement.
